Today we honor 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates the enduring pursuit of freedom.

On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. That delay reminds us that progress is not always immediate, and that each generation has a responsibility to help move our nation closer to its ideals.

Juneteenth is both a celebration and a call to reflection. We recognize the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans throughout our history and in our communities today. We also acknowledge the ongoing work of building a more just, equitable, and inclusive society.

As we commemorate this day, may we continue to learn, listen, and work together to ensure that liberty, opportunity, and dignity are shared by everyone.
