Due to unforeseen circumstances, the October Coffee with the Chief will be cancelled.
We will try and find a date in November to have the event and then start back up with the rotation in January.

We want to thank everyone who came out to National Night Out. We want to thank all the vendors that participated, the school district for allowing us to use their facility (Libby the principal of Mountain Way).
Chief Haverfield and his crew from the fire department for cooking up the hot dogs and showing off their equipment.
A special thank you to the US Navy for bringing out their military working dogs and demonstrating their abilities!

We are a week away from National Night Out!
We will be at Mountain Way Elementary School starting at 4:00PM and going until 7:00PM.
Come out and see your local Police Officers, Firefighters, Search and Rescue Team and other partners who will be present for you.
We will have free hotdogs provided by Granite Falls IGA and cooked by Granite Falls Fire.

Just two weeks away from National Night Out. We will be holding the event again at Mountain Way Elementary School. On August 4th. The hours will be 4:00PM until 7:00PM.
Please make sure to make it to the event and see the participating groups that make this event a success.

We just wanted to let citizens know that there has been bear sightings both in town and on the outskirts of town.
There has been bear s**t located on the Saratoga trail; so use caution when walking in our remote areas.
Please secure bird feeders and garbage containers and anything that will attract our fury friends.
Stay safe!

Earlier today, Granite Deputies learned of the whereabouts of a wanted person. Due to their propensity to eluding the police, a SWAT consult was given. Region One SWAT responded with on duty officers and Deputies and served a search warrant on the property the suspect was residing.
The suspect was contacted and arrested. No one was hurt in this operation and the suspect is in custody.
