There is a low-medium risk of flooding due to heavy rainfall. There is a very low risk of thunderstorms producing a tornado or two Saturday in north central and northeast Alabama. Did you know that improper charging habits can increase the risk of electrical fires? Keep your family and home safe by using certified chargers, checking cords for damage, charging devices on hard, nonflammable surfaces, and keeping electronics away from water. Avoid overloading outlets and power strips, and unplug devices when they are fully charged whenever possible. Never charge phones, tablets, or other electronics under pillows or on beds where heat can build up. Small changes in our daily habits can make a BIG difference in preventing fires! ❤️🚒

Charge Smart. Stay Safe. Prevent Fires!

Please be sure to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts

11:15 a.m. update (10/8/2026):
⚠️With heavy rain being a primary threat for the Tennessee Valley, the National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued an Areal Flood Watch.

⏰This will be in effect from 1 a.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday.

‼️Excessive runoff may lead to flooding of low-lying areas, creeks, rivers, streams, and areas prone to flooding. Pockets of moderate to heavy rain will result in our area receiving 1.50 to nearly 2.50 inches of rain. Isolated higher totals will be possible where the heaviest and steadiest bands set up.

**Stick with The Weather Authority as additional weather alerts are expected to be issued**
