We’ve put together a display featuring some of the most frequently banned and challenged books, along with the reasons they’ve been challenged.

Some of the titles might surprise you. Take a look at the display, pick a book, and see if you can guess why it was banned or challenged before checking the card!

How many can you get right?

Stop by the library and test your banned book knowledge!

National Coffee Day is next Tuesday!

Stop by the library and celebrate with us. We’ll have free coffee and cookies for you to enjoy while you browse, read, or just take a little break.

Because sometimes a good cup of coffee and a library is exactly what you need.

Our after-school programs are back, and we could use a little help from our community.

Every week, kids come through the library for games, community, and other activities. We want to make sure they have something to snack on while they’re here, but keeping the snack supply stocked adds up quickly.

We’re asking our community to help us keep the snack table full.

The most helpful way to donate is through a financial contribution, which allows us to purchase exactly what we need. You can donate digitally through our PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=HEJLRGT3832E2

Prefer to donate in person? You can stop by the library with a cash or check donation.

We also gladly accept shelf-stable, individually packaged snacks such as:
• Chip bags
• Fruit snacks
• Fruit cups
• Granola bars
• Crackers
• Other individually packaged snacks

Every donation, big or small, helps us provide a welcoming place for local kids to learn, play, and spend time after school.

All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for helping us make the library a place where kids feel welcomeand where they know there’s always a snack waiting for them.

Help support Grantsburg Public Library by donating or sharing with your friends.

What a summer!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Summer Reading Program this year! We had 4 amazing events, more than 2,000 entries into our summer prize drawings, and an incredible 4,241 checkouts over the summer.

Those numbers represent a whole lot of books read, stories shared, new things learned, and trips to the library and we couldn't have done it without all of you!

Thank you for making this such a fun and successful summer at the library. We hope you found some great books, made some good memories, and maybe even won a prize or two along the way!

We'll see you at the library!

Libraries are proud to offer eBooks and audiobooks through Libby, but the system behind digital books isn't always as simple as it seems.

While a physical book can stay on our shelves for years, many digital titles cost libraries several times more than the consumer price and often disappear after a set amount of time or number of checkouts. That means every hold list and every renewal comes with a real cost to libraries.

The next time you see a long wait time on Libby, know that libraries everywhere are doing their best to stretch limited budgets and keep your favorite books available. The images below give a glimpse into how digital lending works behind the scenes.

Thank You for Another Great Summer Reading Program!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us last week for Northwoods Percussion! We had a fantastic time learning about rhythm, trying out drums and other percussion instruments, and making music together.

The fun isn't over just yet!

Join us tomorrow for our final Summer Reading Program as we build wooden dinosaurs! It's the perfect way to wrap up another great summer of programs.

🎟️ Reminder: All entries for our June prizes must be turned in by July 2.

And don't stop reading! Throughout July and August, we'll be giving away weekly prizes, so keep tracking your reading and turning in your entries.
