Give Like Dolly Day is coming September 25!

Dolly Parton believed in giving back and helping children dream bigger and this year, we’re celebrating that spirit right here in Nevada County through Give Like Dolly Day.

On Friday, September 25, we’re inviting our community to join us in giving back to children by supporting Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Nevada County. Your support helps make it possible for children in our community to receive a free, high quality book every month from birth to age 5.

Learn more and find out how you can support children in Nevada County by going to the link below.

Dear Community Champion for Children,As we progress through life, many of us think back to the moments which shaped our lives, including the joy of being read…

Dolly has broken the internet! There has been such an outpouring of love for the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in the last 24 hours that their website can't handle all of the traffic. If you're interested in signing up, please email us your child's information and we will work on signing them up. If you're interested in donating, there is a link to the Rotary Club of Nevada City's Zeffy page.

In the last day, we've had 22 new children sign up for the program and have received 6 donations to help keep Dolly's legacy and love of reading going in Nevada County.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, many children in Nevada County find a book in the mailbox, because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.
