Gravette High School

Gravette High School families, you must put your cell phones away when you're waiting in school pickup lines. State law prohibits handheld mobile device use in active school zones.

Even when the line isn't moving, your attention is needed to avoid further delay for everyone. Watch for students walking nearby, vehicles stopping ahead, and staff directing traffic. Staying alert helps keep pickup safe and moving smoothly.

Thank you for putting phones away and watching out for our lion pride during drop-off and pickup. 🦁🧡

🎨 Gravette High School student Reese Long created the winning drawing selected to represent our school in the Natural State Ornament Project. Her artwork will be turned into a holiday ornament and displayed at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock beginning in mid-November.

Reese's artwork captures state symbols including a white-tailed deer among pine trees, a mockingbird perched on apple blossom branches, and a leaping fish. The Arkansas flag set against mountain peaks complete the scene. It's a wonderful depiction of Arkansas wildlife.

Congratulations to Reese on earning this statewide showcase for her work. Thank you to Mrs. Hendrick for organizing this effort and to all the students who threw their hat into the ring. Each one represented Gravette with excellence, and we look forward to having that part of our corner of Arkansas represented at the capitol. 🦁🧡

🏆 Today is National Coaches Appreciation Day, when schools across the country recognize the athletic leaders who guide student-athletes. Every Gravette High School coach received gift certificates, courtesy of Gravette's Sonic Drive-In, in appreciation of their work with the young people of our community.

Coaches teach lessons you will not find in a textbook. How to handle loss, carry yourself in victory, work in a team, and keep going when things do not go your way. They help students discover what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves. They teach young people that failure is not the end of the story. You can miss the shot, lose the game, or fall short, then return tomorrow and try again.

That is why we want to thank the coaching staff here at Gravette High School:
🥎 Samantha Luther, Softball Head Coach and Assistant Athletics Director
📣 Brooklyn Lykins, High School Cheer Head Coach
🏐 Addison Duke, Volleyball Head Coach
🏀 Will Pittman, Girls Basketball Head Coach
🏋️‍♂️ Matt Rhodes, Strength Coach
🏫 Coach Vire, District Athletics Director
🏈 Coach Stelting, Assistant Football Coach
🏀 Matt Busch, Boys Basketball Head Coach
🏈 Bryce Moorman, Football and Baseball Assistant Coach
🤼‍♂️ Jeff Stapleton, Wrestling Head Coach

We also express our appreciation to our high school coaching staff who are not pictured:
🏈 Kelby Bohannon, Football Head Coach
⚾ Bryan Bearden, Baseball Head Coach and Assistant Principal
⚾ Kyle McKeown, Baseball Assistant Coach
📣 Lisa Thrailkill, Assistant Cheer Coach
📣 Haley Hauser, Assistant High School Cheer Coach
🤼‍♂️ Greg Miller, Wrestling Assistant Coach
⚽ Eddy Griffith, Boys Soccer Assistant Coach
🏫 Hunter Wright, Athletic Trainer
🏫 Cassandra McFarland, Athletic Trainer

Thank you to these Athletics leaders for running early morning practices, managing team logistics, and standing by our student-athletes through every setback and success. Special thanks to Gravette Sonic Store #4183 for providing free item gift certificates to every coach and being a valued partner with Gravette Schools. 🦁🧡
