October is National Book month! It was established in 2003 by the National Book Foundation to promote literacy, reading, writing, & literature appreciation. It is a great time to try reading a different genre than you normally do, read a book you have wanted to read, or re-read an old favorite! Children's books count - "Flotsam" is one of my favorites (Naulayne)! Need some suggestions? Try using Listopia (https://www.goodreads.com/list)!

Our suggestion, select a poet from this article (https://tinyurl.com/39ua5ep5), or Google African-American poets & read a poem or watch a reading of their poems on YouTube! You can find poems for free @ The Poetry Foundation(https://tinyurl.com/4c3fw36p)
