This past week, we celebrated our annual 4th-grade field day. On Thursday, September 24th, 2026, students from Olive Hill, Tygart Creek, and Heritage participated. The following day, Friday, September 25th, 2026, students from Carter City, Star, CCA, and Prichard joined in the fun. We had over 302 kids attend.

We had eight engaging stations:
Pioneer Logging
Enviroscape
Wonders of Science
Wildlife
Forestry
Bluebird Boxes
Corps of Engineers
Tree Cookies

I would like to extend my gratitude George Willis for helping cut the tree cookies and drilling the holes for them to be necklaces, NRCS & FSA for helping me pre-drill and build the base of the bird boxes for the kids, East & West FFA for helping with the bird box station and to everyone who managed each station and to Camp Webb for graciously allowing us to use its facilities each year. A heartfelt thank you to all the Carter County Elementary Schools for joining us; without everyone’s support, this event would not be possible.
