Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Habitual Traffic Offender

Yesterday, around 2 P.M. a patrol deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 85 south, near Weld County Road 36 after noticing a silver BMW had an obstructed license plate.

The deputy contacted the driver, 22-year-old Justin Britton. During the investigation, the deputy learned Britton’s driver’s license was revoked, and he was listed as a habitual traffic offender.

Britton was arrested on suspicion of:
• Drove Vehicle When License Is Revoked as Habitual Offender (Traffic)
• Number Plate Obstructed by Device (Traffic)

The sheriff’s office remains committed to keeping our roadways safe and enforcing traffic laws to protect the community.

All charges are merely accusations, and a defendant is presumed innocent until, or unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Failure-to-Comply Warrant Leads to Arrest

On Sept. 28, just after 8:30 A.M. a Weld County patrol deputy arrested 43-year-old Chelsea Linn on a failure to comply warrant.

The failure-to-comply warrant issued for Linn was tied to the specific license plate registered to Linn and assigned to a Honda-CRV.

Days later, on Sept. 28, a patrol deputy received a warrant alert from our Flock cameras near East I-25 Frontage Road and Sable Ave. The warrant alert included the specific license plate assigned to the Honda-CRV, that is registered to Linn and the active warrant for failure to comply. The deputy confirmed in the Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC) that the warrant was valid and extraditable.
While checking nearby business parking lots, the deputy found the Honda-CRV parked in front of a business in the 4400 block of City Centre Road, in Firestone. The deputy positively identified Linn sitting in the driver's seat of vehicle and arrested her for the active warrant.

Keeping Weld County safe through investigating and tracking individuals with active warrants continues to be a priority for the sheriff’s office.

All charges are merely accusations, and a defendant is presumed innocent until, unless proven guilty in a court of law.
