Whether your focus is corporate security, risk management, executive protection, or IT, cybersecurity now touches every discipline, and threats once confined to a single domain have far-reaching consequences.

NEW COURSE AVAILABLE

Critical Incident Management for Tactical Responders (CIMTR)

When a major incident begins to unfold, the first law enforcement officer (LEO) on scene often becomes the first incident commander. Many LEOs and frontline LE supervisors are unsure how to set up and utilize ICS and how it applies to LE scenarios. This course will help build familiarity and confidence with using ICS for any scenario, and yes, that includes LE-specific incidents and events. The decisions made during those first critical minutes will shape the organizational successes and challenges that follow.

Critical Incident Management for Tactical Responders is a two-day scenario-based training (SBT) course designed to help frontline law enforcement leaders effectively manage rapidly expanding incidents using proven Incident Command System (ICS) principles. With a simple internal policy change, this course could be used to satisfy the grant requirements that currently require frontline LE supervisors to complete ICS 300.

Developed in cooperation with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), this training builds upon a program that has already been used to train hundreds of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers.

Designed for field supervisors and first-line leaders, CIMTR focuses on practical application through realistic scenarios, interactive discussions, and leadership exercises.

Participants will learn to:

• Strengthen command, direction, and coordination efforts
• Apply ICS principles during rapidly emerging incidents
• Develop and communicate the leader's intent
• Recognize when command transfer is necessary
• Execute effective transfer of command procedures
• Demonstrate crisis leadership skills in dynamic environments

The course is POST-certified in the State of Nevada, allowing officers to receive continuing education credit. We will also work with host agencies and state credentialing authorities to pursue CE credit approval in other states.

This is not traditional classroom ICS instruction. It is practical leadership training built specifically for law enforcement professionals who may be called upon to manage critical incidents when seconds matter.

From two LE Sgt-level course participants:
"Most LEO/ICS-related course I have taken. Appreciated the relation to my job (LEO) using ICS."
"Excellent instruction. Very well-informed instructors. Great scenarios. Great LEO-based course."
