Freedom House Green Bay Brown County's only homeless shelter serving families (adults with dependent children). For more information visit freedomhousegb.org.

Chances are someone in your neighborhood or circle of friends is one of the multitudes living paycheck to paycheck, unable to overcome any unexpected turn of events – or maybe it’s you. Freedom House is here to help. We’re the only shelter in Brown County providing assistance to all types of homeless families with children – single Moms, single Dads or couples, no matter how many kids they have. WAY more than “3 hots and a cot,” we change lives – and 92% of the people who come through our doors never return to homelessness.

That’s a wrap on egg rolls🙌

A big thank-you to Nicolet Bank for supporting our egg roll fundraiser! Not only did they sponsor the fundraiser, but their team also made sure every last egg roll was ready to go. Their generosity and hands-on help played a huge part in making this fundraiser a success!

We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone in our community who ordered egg rolls and showed their support! Every order helps us continue our mission of supporting families as they move toward long-term stability.

Thank you all for coming together and making this fundraiser possible! 💙

When a family loses housing, the fear is that parents and children won’t be able to stay together. Adults go to one place, kids another, teenagers somewhere else entirely.

Freedom House Ministries is the only shelter in Brown County where a family stays together. Parents keep parenting. Kids keep their people. Bedtime still exists.

That is the thing the $70,000 Anniversary Challenge Match protects, and it only unlocks if giving grows this year.

A success coaching session is mostly a list and a pen.

Get the kids to school on time. Find living-wage employment. Repair a credit score. Find out what a landlord wants that the last one didn't. Figure out what the monthly rent and security deposit will be.

Nothing on that list is dramatic. All of it is the reason families leave here with a lease.

Community First Credit Union is one of three partners behind the $70,000 Anniversary Challenge Match. Here is why they did it, in their words.

Their team sees the same thing our Success Coaches see every day: families are restoring hope in a dignifying environment, moving toward affordable housing they can keep.

Every dollar you give above last year's gift and every new donor who invests in Freedom House is matched through December 31.

It's easy to feel discouraged by the scale of the housing crisis.

On this episode of the Inside the House podcast, Tara Prahl shares why she's still hopeful. New housing projects are taking shape, agencies are collaborating instead of working in silos, and our community keeps showing up.

Change isn't fast, but it's happening.

A safe place to stay is important. But lasting stability takes more than a roof over your head.

That’s why we’re excited to partner with Safe Families for Children — helping families build meaningful relationships with people who can walk alongside them not only during their time at Freedom House, but beyond their stay at shelter.

These lasting connections can help reduce isolation and provide an added layer of stability as families move forward into housing and independence.

Building apartment complexes or more single-family homes alone won't solve our housing crisis.

On this episode of Inside the House, Tara Prahl of the Brown County Homeless & Housing Coalition and Ecumenical Partnership for Housing challenges us to think bigger.

The right housing, in the right spot, at the right affordability level, takes real innovation, not just more units.

Something worth repeating from Seeds for Change, our recent signature event.

Three partners — Community First Credit Union, J.J. Keller Foundation and Friends of Freedom House — have committed $70,000 in matching funds honoring Freedom House's 35th anniversary. This challenge match reflects on our history and foundation, while looking ahead at serving more families experiencing homelessness.

The challenge match is unlocked two ways. A new donor's gift is matched dollar-for-dollar and current supporters who go above and beyond last year's giving will be matched.

The deadline is December 31.
