Today is National First Responders Day.

Join us in taking a moment to honor and recognize the selfless dedication of our public safety brothers and sisters in law enforcement, the fire service, EMS, and, of course, 911.

May your service and sacrifice never go unnoticed, and may you always find your way home.

On this 25th anniversary of 9/11, we pause to remember the 2,977 lives lost that day and the resulting sacrifices made by American heroes both at home and abroad in the years following in defending our nation's freedom and preserving our uniquely American way of life against those who tried, and failed, to end it on that dark day.

Despite the best efforts of our enemies 25 years ago, our nation persevered and overcame the challenge, as we always do.

Today, America remains strong, resilient and free.

In honor and memory of the victims of September 11, 2001, may we always remember, and may we never forget...

God Bless America 🇺🇲

🚨 BABY ON BOARD! 🚨

Join us in celebrating an amazing job by dispatcher Val Gelinas!

On August 8, Val answered a 911 call for a mom actively in labor on I-80. Val acted fast and guided the dad to pull over safely at the Love's in Wamsutter. Using her expert training, Val coached the dad through delivering a healthy baby boy! 👶

Thanks to Val and the Carbon County Dispatch team, EMS and Fire crews arrived in less than five minutes. Mom and baby were safely taken to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. 🤱

This is Val's 3rd Stork Award in her 30-year career! 🩺✨ and the second for our center. Thank you, Val, for your calm voice and quick actions.

Join us Friday September 11th, 2026 as we stand together to remember, honor, and never forget. 🇺🇸

This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11—a milestone that reminds us of the tragedy of that day, as well as the incredible resilience, unity, and heroism that followed.

We invite our entire community to lace up their shoes and participate in one of our two 9/11 Memorial Walks:

🌅 Morning Walk (Rock Springs)

* Meet: 5:30 AM | Western Wyoming Community College Parking Lot
* Start: 6:00 AM | Grant Street

🌆 Evening Walk (Green River)

* Meet: 6:30 PM | Green River Fire Dept (500 Shoshone Ave)
* Start: 6:46 PM

Whether you walk to honor the lives lost, pay tribute to our first responders, or teach the next generation the true meaning of community strength, your presence matters. Let’s walk side-by-side and ensure the promise to "Never Forget" remains as strong today as it was 25 years ago. 🤝

See attached flyers for more information ℹ️

If you receive an emergency text on your phone about an evacuation, please ignore it. That message is meant for Fremont County, not Sweetwater County. You are safe, and no action is needed right now.

📢 COMMUNITY NOTICE 📢

UNION WIRELESS 911 CALL MISROUTING

We have been made aware that Union Wireless is experiencing a system-wide service interruption impacting routing capabilities for 911 calls.

When dialing 911, Union Wireless customers are being routed to the Union Wireless service provider call center then transferred back to our dispatch center via our administrative lines.

Since we aren't receiving these 911 calls directly, we are also not receiving the location information that traditionally accompanies 911 calls.

For Union Wireless customers who need to reach dispatch with an emergency, please call one of our non-emergent administrative lines below:

(307) 875 - 1400

(307) 362 - 6575

*Please note* You will need to provide accurate location information when placing calls via our administrative lines.

This service interruption ONLY impacts Union Wireless customers. No other service providers are experiencing or have reported experiencing any system issues currently.

It is presently unknown when Union Wireless began experiencing these issues and there is no estimate of service restoration at this time.

Updates will be provided as we learn more.
