Emerald Palace Equipment Sponsors

We have placed a banner in the playground to share who sponsored the individual components.

We are working on getting the plaques and should have an update in a few weeks. Our hope is to have them done locally instead of spending our money out of country.

Once we have specific details we will be contacting each of you for what name you want on the plaque.

Until that time, we will keep the banner up and we THANK YOU for your support.

We noticed before the playground opened that the spring animals were loosing their coats (paint). So we contacted the vendor and they said that they would replace them immediately.

Yesterday, we removed the old spring animals to make way for the new ones. The playground was only minus the animals for about 12 hours. The replacements arrived around 2:40 today and we were waiting in the parking lot for the handoff of old animals for new animals.

Yes, there were "littles" wanting to know what we were doing and there were "littles" this afternoon waiting for the new ones to be remounted so they could ride.

One would think that putting in four screws, underneath a cast iron animal, working on your back, looking into the sun wouldn't be a problem. Well, an hour later we were both sweating and finally happy to say that the screws and animals were back in place - and we were exhausted! Whew!

No sooner did we stand up when a little girl happily jumped on and started rocking back and forth.

Ahhhhh, thats what it's all about! Happy kids in a fun place to play.

They were new to town 25 years ago and thought volunteering to help build the playground would be fun and they would meet some new local friends. And that they did.

When EP 2.0 was happening, Steve and Linda immediately signed up to help with the build again. We are so thankful for 25 year members of the Emerald Palace build teams.

Of course, it only counts if you have your picture taken as Palace People then and now 🤪.

Mission complete Steve and Linda.

It's not just an opening chain because there is a very special story behind it.

The chain, was signed by all of the SPARK kids this summer. Darrel Thomas, our City Councilman who passed away this year, was the individual who started the funding for the SPARK program many years ago. So, to you Darrell Thomas, we say THANK YOU and YOU are truly missed by the Putnam County Community.

Last week Rachael Greene made a surprise visit to the Emerald Palace.

As one of the founding organizers, Rachel gave the playground a “thumb up” and is excited for play experiences for future generations.

We are thankful for all of our life long playground supporters. We appreciated your support 25 years ago and we are thankful for your support for the next 25 years.
