Retired Greenfield Central history teacher, celebrated author, and lifelong Indiana sports fan Bill Murphy is returning to the Hancock Public Library. His new book, “Tried and True,” is about the 2026 National Champion Indiana University Football team and Bill’s 66-year journey as a season ticket holder.

Bill will also discuss some of his other work, including “Am I a Hoosier” and “The Indiana Hoosier Fans' Bucket List”. This promises to be a scintillating talk full of wonderful stories, including Bill’s efforts to get to the Hoosiers’ last Rose Bowl appearance in 1968, when he was 15 years old.

Give Like Dolly Day on September 25, announced by the The Dollywood Foundation, is a global day dedicated to supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Programs. Join us in celebrating Dolly Parton's legacy of inspiring children to dream big and fall in love with reading!

Donate your gently used Imagination Library books and help share the joy of reading with even more local children! Donated books will be redistributed to area nonprofits serving families and children throughout our community.

You can drop off books at the main library (900 W. McKenzie Rd., Greenfield) on September 25.
