Sue Broderick, Harborfields Board Trustee Being on this Board was a goal of mine 15 years ago. I waited a decade to run! I love this town, this community, and this District!!!!

And in the last 5 years while I have been on the board we have really made a difference! I have lived in Greenlawn since 2004 and my two children are recent Harborfields grads. My daughter was a three-season varsity athlete who has gone on to win an NCAA DII National Lacrosse Championship and my son is a student with Autism and was in our special education program from kindergarten through graduation. I have also worked as a teaching assistant in the district for the past 17 years. I am a dedicated and experienced member of our school community and have served in many leadership roles. I have a proven track record and experience serving our school community as an executive board member and President of our Special Education PTA, I was President or Vice-President of the United Teaching Assistants of Harborfields union for 12 years and I’ve been a member of numerous districtwide committees. As a trustee on the Harborfields Board of Education, I work to support our entire community who is incredibly supportive of its schools.

Important info out of Albany!

Today, the Board of Regents authorized the New York Education Department to move forward with the next phase of NY Inspires, a historic transformation of education in New York State.

Beginning with students graduating in 2028, New York will transition to one State high school diploma. In addition, Regents examinations will continue to serve as rigorous measures of academic achievement but will no longer be a separate diploma requirement.

The changes are designed to provide a more complete picture of student achievement and create more opportunities for students to demonstrate what they know and can do. https://bit.ly/4itN1Wd
