Today was Dress Like Dr. McMillon Day at Bessemer, still celebrating National Principals Month. The kids and staff were truly impressive 😊

The sign meant so much to me that it almost brought me to tears. This is a picture of me during my senior year of high school. My wife and daughter asked the questions last week, and I wondered why, but I didn't think much of it.

What hit me hardest was seeing Dr. McMillon under that picture because, at the time, I doubted myself and thought I wasn't smart enough to go to college!

My Assistant Principal Avery Steele got me good with this one lol.

Bessemer Families, Community Members, and Stakeholders,

At our October 6th School Improvement Team meeting, our team worked collaboratively to develop new vision and mission statement options that reflect who we are, where we are going, and what we value as a school community.

Now, we want your voice in the process! Please take a few moments to review the proposed statements and vote for the vision and mission statement you believe best represents Bessemer Elementary and our commitment to developing leaders, promoting growth, strengthening community, and preparing our students for the future.

Thank you for being an important partner in helping shape the future of Bessemer Elementary.

Stronger Together, Growing with Purpose!
