Greensboro Bar Association The Greensboro Bar Association was formed on March 15, 1929. Over its long history, many projects and committees have been developed, expanded and completed.

The Greensboro Bar Association was formed on March 15, 1929, and seeks to represent and promote The American legal sysyem’s values of individual freedom, dignity, the right to due process, and equal protection under the law. The Greensboro Bar Association seeks the to represent The American legal system’s values of individual freedom, dignity, the right to due process, and equal protection under the law. As Lawyers, we are guardians for our legal system, and we have an important professional responsibility to recognize, honor, and enhance the rule of law. We are in a privileged position, and therefore, we work under special obligations. To forget or set aside these obligations is to dishonor our profession.

Join the Greensboro Bar Association for Law Day 2026 on May 1 at 1:00 PM at the Old County Courthouse in the County Commissioners Meeting Room.

This year’s theme, “The Rule of Law and the American Dream,” highlights the vital role the legal system plays in shaping opportunity, fairness, and justice in our communities.

The program will feature remarks from distinguished members of the bench and bar, including Superior Couty Judge Lisa Johnson-Tonkins, Chief District Court Judge Marc Tyrey, City Councilmember Adam Marshall, and County Commissioner Frankie Jones.

The event will also include a special performance of “Wheels of a Dream” from Ragtime, performed by Ralph Shaw.

Just a reminder that Young Lawyers Section will be collecting donations in support of the Family Room Foster Care Resource Center tomorrow at the Annual Meeting of the GBA/24th Judicial District. Items of need include size 4, 5, 6 diapers, and baby wipes.
