We had a great turnout last night for National Night Out! Glad to see so many people from the community come out for this event. We’d like to thank our local partners Bell Arthur Fire Department and The Red Oak Community Rural Fire Department for bringing out some of their apparatus to display. We look forward to hosting Pitt County Sheriff Office with this event next year.

One of our paramedics is in need of the community’s help and support. If you are able, please donate to help him while he is out of work for a few months. His life has been one of service to others. From volunteer firefighter, 911 dispatcher, to his true calling as a paramedic, he has helped and cared for others. Thank you for any support you can provide him and his family.

Please remember the Bell Arthur Fire Department and the family of Captain Mills in your thoughts and prayers. Rycke was a faithful servant to our community for many years.
Past Chief, current Captain Rycke D. Mills passed away in the early morning of 06/15/2023. Rycke has been an active member of the Bell Arthur Fire Department since February of 1977. For the past 46 years he has been a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, firefighter and a dear friend to many. His passion, dedication and involvement in the fire department will be greatly missed. Rycke served the department as a Firefighter, as an Engineer, as a Lieutenant, as a Captain, as an Assistant Chief, he was on the board of directors and he also served as Chief of the department. Rycke was loved by everyone he met and he will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends.
