The South Goes Global: A Culinary Celebration is here! Join us Thursday, October 22 at 5 pm in the Program Room for food and conversations connecting Latin America and the U.S. South. The discussion will be led by chefs Von Díaz, Sandra Gutiérrez, and Wilson Alonzo, followed by food trucks in the library parking lot! 👩‍🍳🌶

Yesterday was a fun, teen-filled day at SML! First we had a visit from some “Book Nerds” from Ayden-Grifton High School and then we had an interactive movie program in the afternoon. Teens watched a 1993 spooky classic; can you guess which movie? 🧙🏼‍♀️🐈‍⬛📖🕯️

Join us October 22 at 5 pm for “A Culinary Celebration: The South Goes Global” with Dr. Amy Wright and ECU Thomas Harriot College of Arts & Sciences. Three internationally recognized chefs --Von Díaz, Sandra Gutiérrez & Wilson Alonzo-- will be demonstrating and discussing special recipes and ingredients that cross the Global South -- many of which are featured in their cookbooks, also available at the library! After the talk and Q&A, you can sample some regional cuisines at food trucks stationed at the library (available for purchase following the event).
