They say all good things come to an end.
Congratulations to clerk Melanie Whaley Dunlow on her retirement from the Pitt County Clerk's office. 🎉 👑
She's worked in our clerk's office for 18 years, and also had 16 years of service with the public school system.
I have enjoyed working with Melanie in the courtroom. She has been one of our clerks handling paperwork for first appearances in criminal court.
We will miss you lots. Thank you for your service and your hard work.

It's been a busy week at the Pitt County Courthouse, and it is only Tuesday. ⚖️
The week got off to a great start with the swearing in of a newly licensed attorney, Mrs. Maddy Hembree, who is also a new Assistant District Attorney.
I administered both oaths to Mrs. Hembree before court began on Monday morning. She had been working for our elected District Attorney, Faris Dixon, while waiting for her bar results, so she has plenty of experience in the courtroom.
I believe Mrs. Hembree will be an asset to our District Attorney and also to our citizens in Pitt County as she seeks to faithfully administer justice in her new role as Assistant District Attorney.
Pictured with ADA Hembree are her husband, Eli, and District Attorney Faris Dixon.

Last day of the Farmville Dogwood Festival is today.
I was privileged to attend the opening ceremony on Friday night with other local court officials.
Pictured here we see our Pitt County Clerk of Court, Sara Beth Fulford Rhodes, Pitt County District Attorney Faris Dixon, Register of Deeds Lisa Nichols and Rep. Gloristine Brown.

My son Christian turns 13 today!
He's a good kid, and he loves basketball almost as much as his dad does. 🏀🏀🏀
Happy Birthday buddy. I'm proud of you.

Our youngest played her first basketball game today! 🏀🏀🏀
She did a great job of staying with her man and even made a basket. Hoping she loves the game as much as her sisters do.
Thanks to Coach Ashley Allen for his instruction and patience. Looking forward to the rest of this Upward season.

Congratulations and best wishes to the newest members of the Greenville Police Department. 👮♂️
I had the privilege of swearing in these 8 new officers at the Greenville City Hall last week.
I hope these officers will stay safe and set a strong example of service and commitment to our local community.
