Gantt District Fire Department is a division of the Gantt Fire Sewer and Police District formed in 1954. We are located in the southern part of Greenville.

Gantt District Fire Department at Fire Leadership SC 2026

Several members of Gantt District Fire Department are in Myrtle Beach this week attending the 2026 Fire Leadership SC Conference, hosted by the **South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs.

This conference provides a great opportunity for professional development, leadership training, and networking with fire service leaders and colleagues from across South Carolina. Our members are participating in several training sessions focused on leadership, operations, and the challenges facing today’s fire service.

We are especially proud to recognize Battalion Chief Dowell, who graduated from the South Carolina Chief Fire Officer Program during this year’s conference!

The Chief Fire Officer Program is a specialized professional development program designed to prepare current and emerging fire service leaders to navigate the administrative, managerial, and operational challenges of the fire service. Chief Dowell dedicated numerous hours to classroom instruction, individual projects, and team projects alongside fire service professionals from across the state.

Chief Dowell is also continuing his professional development by participating in the Battalion Chief Academy, which focuses on Incident Command, Strategies, and Tactics.

Congratulations to Chief Dowell on this accomplishment, and thank you to all of our members who continue to invest in their professional development. Strong leadership starts with a commitment to learning and improving.

We are proud to see our members representing Gantt FD and continuing to grow as leaders in the fire service!
