Yesterday, Emerald City Rotary welcomed Tequila and Lauren from T's Healing Oasis an organization dedicated to empowering and enriching the lives of those affected by domestic abuse.

Their work helps survivors rebuild safe, comfortable homes and everyday essentials can make a big difference. Beds, linens, furniture, cookware, towels, and cleaning supplies help create spaces where individuals and families can begin to heal.

T’s Healing Oasis accepts new and gently used household items, along with monetary donations to support this mission. 🏡💜

Thank you, Tequila and Lauren, for sharing your work and showing us how practical acts of kindness can help our neighbors move forward and heal!

🍽️ Skip a meal. Help end polio.

We are kicking off our Skip a Meal for PolioPlus fundraiser today, October 7! Consider donating what you would typically spend on a meal to help protect children from polio. Any amount makes a difference! 💙💛

We’ll also participate at our Third Tuesday meeting on October 20.

Today is Give Like Dolly Day! 📚

Dolly Parton believed something as simple as putting a book in a child’s hands could help change their future. Today, we have an opportunity to carry that legacy forward right here in Greenwood County.

A gift of just $9.25 on 9/25 helps Emerald City Rotary Foundation provide free books every month to local children from birth to age 5 through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Small gifts add up to something pretty extraordinary: more books, more stories, and more Greenwood County children growing up with their own library at home.

We ran out of bags before we ran out of ways to serve! 📚💙

Today during our Wednesday morning meeting, Emerald City Rotarians packed 80 Read With Me Kits for children ages 4 and under in our community, and more are on the way!

Delivered today to Greenwood County Library System and Food Bank of the Lakelands these bags give families something to read, create and enjoy together. They include children’s books, coloring and activity books, crayons, bookmarks, our “My Little Kindness Book,” and registration forms for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

Thank you to everyone who donated, every Rotarian who packed bags, and Micro Project Chair Amy McAlister for bringing this project together! Special thanks to President Elect and Service Project Chair Robert Hofmann and Literacy Chair Jerry Rentz for getting the bags into our community today.

Service Above Self starts right here with our neighbors, our children and members willing to lend a hand. 💛
