Update for those wondering! The Fort Hood Team returned yesterday. The helicopter was loaded today at Fort Hood, and it is on the way back on a KAM Specialized Trucking, Bonduel, Wisconsin, truck as we type. The plan is that it will arrive in Gresham on Friday, October 9th, at 11AM with an es**rt. Hope to see you there! Gresham American Legion Post 390

Reaching out to anyone in the Fort Hood area who can help!

After over 20 years of waiting, Gresham American Legion Post 390 has been given the opportunity by the Army Donations Program Office to acquire an AH-1S Cobra Helicopter (see photo of the actual helicopter) for our future Veteran's Memorial Park (see picture of proposal park rendition). Our holdup has been finding someone in the Killeen, Texas, area who can help prepare the helicopter for shipping to Gresham, Wisconsin. In order to haul it north, I am told we will need to remove the rotor to meet road height restrictions. We have someone who can haul it at cost and a very supportive Village of Gresham who has a place we can display it. We also have a very tight timeline of 30 September 2026! Any help is appreciated! Look for future Memorial Park fundraising posts that include an opportunity for loved ones to purchase a Veteran's Memorial Recognition Brick!
