ANNUAL BURN BAN LIFTED

The Georgia Forestry Commission’s annual burn ban has been lifted, and open burning is permitted beginning today, October 1st.

As burning season begins, please remember that Georgia’s open burning laws and requirements still apply. Always check the weather, keep your fire under control, and make sure you are following all required precautions.

Please review the pictured Georgia Forestry Commission fact sheet for information on what can be burned and safe burning practices.

Grovetown Fire Rescue recently had the opportunity to host a helicopter landing zone and safety training class presented by Wellstar AirCare.

Training like this helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to safely establish landing zones and work alongside air medical crews when every second counts.

We were happy to train alongside our partners from Columbia County Fire Rescue and appreciate Wellstar AirCare taking the time to share their knowledge and experience.
