Join a Book Club at the library! For October 27 at 1:30, the Guerneville Book Club will be discussing Oranges are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson. Not enough time for you to get it read? No worries, we'll be doing it again on Tuesday, November 24 at 1:30 to discuss Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino. Copies of the Book Club book are available at the reference desk or the book club display at the front of the library.

In September, Guerneville was honored to host a Q***r Family Social for LGBTQIA+ families. We were joined by Postive Images and Amor Para Todos, local organizations who spread kindness, joy and inclusivity-- just like the Guerneville Library! Families and allies came in to the library to do crafts, make buttons and get free books! Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen!

Get out the vote! Many of our library branches have Official Ballot Drop Boxes in their parking lots. Attention Young Writers! Submissions for the 19th Annual Doris Dickenson Young Writers Contest are due this Friday, October 16, 2026 at 6 PM. We will be accepting essays, poetry, short stories and monologues. Join us on Thursday, October 15 at 3:30pm for a book club for kids who are just beginning to read chapter books. Practice reading aloud or just follow along in your own copy--no pressure! No need to have read the book before the meeting. Kids who register will receive a copy of the book and we will all read the first few chapters together. Then take the book home and finish it on your own or with your family!
Registration is required to reserve a spot and get a copy of the book.

"Pour yourself a cup of ambition," and come down to the library to celebrate International Coffee Day! We've got books about coffee and coffee culture (338.1737 THURSTON, 641.3373 HOFFMAN, 641.3373 FREEMAN) Every Sonoma County Library has cookbooks for pastries, desserts, and breakfasts (641 and beyond) to go with your coffee. If you're a more of a tea person, we've got books on tea-- head over to the 641.3 area in Non-fiction. And if all those numbers seem a bit of a jumble, just ask your local library staff for assistance; that's what we're here for!
