Happy Columbus Day 🇮🇹

🇮🇹🇺🇸 Happy Columbus Day!

As a proud first-generation Italian American, today holds special meaning for me.

Columbus Day is an opportunity to celebrate our Italian heritage and recognize the generations of Italian Americans who helped build this great country.

From small businesses and hardworking families to achievements in science and education, Italian Americans have made lasting contributions to the American story.

I’m proud of my roots, grateful for the sacrifices of those who came before us, and honored to be part of a community that continues to carry forward the values of hard work, family, and opportunity.

Happy Columbus Day to all who celebrate!

🇮🇹🇺🇸 Proud of our heritage. Proud to be American.

Carlyle Ciccone is running for the 98th District… an excellent alternative to Moira Rader‼️

He is a husband, a father and a small business owner of a restaurant in West Haven and is running because he wants a better future for his young children!

In Connecticut, you now need a photo ID to get your 10-cent bottle deposit back if you recycle 1,000 cans or bottles.

But you don’t need a photo ID to cast a ballot.

A dime refund on bottles gets an ID check. A vote doesn’t.

👉Think of the absurdity: more verification is required to hand over empty soda cans than to help decide who governs our state and spends billions in taxpayer funds.

Protecting election integrity requires basic accountability. If a dime demands proof of identity, our democracy certainly does too. And the FRAUD JUST KEEPS HAPPENING. There was yet another arrest THIS MORNING involving absentee ballot fraud in Bridgeport when former Democrat State Senator Dennis Bradley was charged with tampering with a sealed absentee ballot to change a voter's choice for probate judge.

This is not going to stop happening unless we take securing our elections with basic verifications seriously.

Voting is one of the most important responsibilities we have as citizens. That means our elections deserve the strongest safeguards we can reasonably put in place.

If Connecticut can require identification to make sure someone is legitimately collecting dimes in their returns, surely we can have a serious conversation about verifying the identity of someone casting a ballot.

The stakes at the ballot box are a whole lot higher than 10 cents!
