This morning, I had the opportunity to attend an event for U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith.

It was good to visit with Senator Hyde-Smith, Congressman Mike Ezell, and several local and state officials who were also in attendance.

With Election Day coming up tomorrow, I appreciate the opportunity to connect with fellow Mississippi leaders and members of our community.

As part of our National Co-op Month road trip and presenting recognition resolutions, our first stop was visiting Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association.

Pearl River Valley Electric traces its beginnings to 1938, when 228 rural residents in the Columbia area came together to bring electricity to their communities. Today, the cooperative serves a 12-county area and maintains more than 6,000 miles of electric distribution lines.

Thank you to Pearl River Valley Electric for your continued commitment to reliable service, supporting local communities, and expanding opportunities through initiatives like PearlComm Fiber. I appreciate all that your team does for the people of Mississippi!

This week, I traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, for the annual meeting of the Organization of MISO States (OMS).

These meetings bring together state regulators from across the MISO region to discuss important energy issues, including grid reliability, resource planning, and the decisions that will shape our region’s energy future.

It’s important for Mississippi to have a seat at the table and a voice in these conversations. I’ll continue working to represent our state’s interests and advocate for Mississippi’s utility customers.
