The Gulfport Police Department encourages our community to participate in DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day! This is a great opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted or expired medications and help prevent prescription drug misuse.

You know that medicine cabinet, the top of the fridge, the spot next to the coffee pot or the bottom of your purse where old medication seems to collect? Now's the time to clean them out!

Small steps can make a big difference in keeping our community safe. Let's work together to keep Gulfport safe, one medicine cabinet at a time!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to Boozer’s Brew this morning to celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day with us!

We loved seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new friends, sharing some laughs, and enjoying great conversations over a cup of coffee. These moments are what make our community so special!

And, of course, a big thank you to Boozer’s Brew for welcoming us and helping make the morning such a success!

The Gulfport Police Department will join with national rail safety education nonprofit Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI), the Amtrak Police Department and hundreds of local, state, federal and railroad law enforcement departments across the U.S. for Operation Clear Track (OCT) to raise awareness of and enforce railroad grade crossing and trespassing laws. OCT takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 22 during See Tracks? Think Train® Week, which runs Sept. 21-27.

During OCT, agency law enforcement personnel share the rail safety education message with their community at targeted railroad grade crossings, transit stations and other locations. The goal of See Tracks? Think Train® Week and OCT is to reduce pedestrian and driver injuries and fatalities around railroad tracks through increased public awareness.

A special THANK YOU to our amazing forensics team! We appreciate everything you do to follow the evidence, find the facts, and help tell the story. Your expertise, attention to detail, long hours, and dedication often happen behind the scenes, but the impact of your work is felt throughout our department and the cases we investigate.

We had a tail-wagging good time this morning at Cops, Pops & Pups! From meeting our community to spending time with some absolutely adorable pups looking for their forever homes, it was a morning full of smiles, wagging tails, and plenty of puppy love!

A huge thank-you to everyone who came out and supported these sweet dogs. And a special shout-out to Pops Brothers and the Humane Society of South Mississippi for bringing these lovable pups and helping connect them with potential forever families.

We hope some of these good boys and girls found their people today—but if not, their perfect family is still out there!

Year six of the Law & Public Safety Class at Gulfport High School was a huge success! This year we welcomed 21 students who spent five weeks getting an inside look at the many different sides of law enforcement and the criminal justice system.

These future leaders toured the Gulfport police Department, examined a mock crime scene, and worked alongside members of Forensics, CID, and SWAT, while also learning from the Harrison County Public Defender's Office and the Harrison County District Attorney's Office.

A huge thank you to Mr. Necaise and his amazing students for their enthusiasm, dedication, and engagement throughout the program. Your questions, curiosity, and willingness to learn made this year one to remember. The future of Gulfport is bright!

Please join us in congratulating Officer Hayden Wyers on his graduation from the Harrison County Law Enforcement Academy!

After countless hours of training, studying, testing, and hard work, he has officially crossed the finish line and is ready to begin the next chapter of his career serving the citizens of Gulfport.

We are incredibly proud of Officer Wyers for receiving the Fi****ms Award and Lieutenant Jason Ducre for being selected as Favorite Instructor. What an honor and great reflection of their dedication to this profession.

We are proud to welcome Officer Wyers to the ranks of the Gulfport Police Department and look forward to the positive impact he will make in our community for years to come.

🚓What a FUN day at TrainTastic! 🚂

We had an amazing time getting out into the community for the Traintastic First Responders Day and loved every minute of interacting with all the families who came out!

From meeting little future first responders to answering questions, and sharing lots of smiles, it was a great day filled with fun, laughter, and community connections!

A huge THANK YOU to TrainTastic for inviting us to be part of such a wonderful event and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We love getting the opportunity to show our community the people behind the badge and build relationships outside of an emergency call. 💙
