What a Friday night for our small town!! WOW!

We counted over 600 kids come through our trunk or treat event. It was our biggest turnout ever. We didn’t know if the line was ever going to end. I’m sure our trunks felt the same!! We could not of had such an amazing event without our trunks!!! We had so many returning trunks and a handful of newbies who said they will be back! You guys showed up and did an amazing job! We can’t thank you enough!

Lastly a huge huge thank you to our volunteers!! We are small but mighty!! Can you believe this event was put on by about 5 people. Already thinking ahead for next year we could certainly use more help to keep this a safe event for everyone. If anyone would like to help be apart of our events and be involved we would love to have you attend our monthly meetings.

TRUNK OR TREAT PARKING UPDATE!

We’ve got some exciting news! We will have a hayride shuttle available from the firehouse to the Gumboro Community Center! There is one wagon so please be mindful of the time it takes.

🚜 Hayride Information:
The hayride will transport guests from the firehouse to the Community Center, making parking a little easier! (And back to the fire house) Please note that this is a ride-at-your-own-risk experience. Guests are welcome to ride but do so at their own discretion.

🚗 AVAILABLE PARKING LOCATIONS:

* 📍 Gumboro Wesleyan Church – Front and rear parking lots
* 📍 Gumboro Volunteer Fire Department – Park and catch the hayride!
* 📍 Millsboro Highway – Along the roadway where parking is permitted
* 📍 Ball Field – Along the road surrounding the ball field fence

Please be mindful of traffic, use caution when parking and walking, and help us keep roadways and entrances clear

TRUNK-OR-TREAT IS A GO FOR FRIDAY NIGHT!

The weather is looking like it will cooperate, and we’re excited to announce that our Gumboro Community Center Trunk-or-Treat is ON for Friday, October 16th!

🕕 Trick-or-Treating: 6:00–8:00 PM

🚗 PARKING INFORMATION:

Parking will be available at the following locations:

* In front of and behind Gumboro Wesleyan Church
* Along Millsboro Highway and around the ball field, outside the fence
* Gumboro Volunteer Firehouse (for those who don’t mind a little walk!)

🚜 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR TRUNKS:

* Trunks may begin arriving anytime after 4:00 PM.
* Someone will be on-site to direct you where to set up.
* Please have your trunk completely set up and ready by 5:45 PM.
* There is a potential for some wind, so please plan accordingly and secure your decorations!

🌭🍪🥤 FOOD & REFRESHMENTS:

We’ll have some great food, sweet treats, and specialty drinks available for purchase!

🧁 Lady Bagel Bombers 11U Black – They will be selling hot dogs and waters. Also, stop by their bake sale table for some delicious goodies! Cash and Venmo accepted.

🥤 Sun Kissed Sips – Bringing their soda truck with specialty dirty sodas, lattes, and energy drinks available for purchase!

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled evening with our community! Thank you to everyone helping make this event possible. We can’t wait to see all the costumes and decorated trunks!

We are continuing to monitor the weather for this Friday evenings trunk or treat from 6-8pm. As we all know weather can change quickly around here so this will be a more of a last minute decision. We have a record amount of trunks scheduled and we are really hoping for the weather to clear up for Friday evening for all participants and families attending. If the weather is not looking good, our rain date is scheduled for Saturday from 6-8pm. We hope most of our trunks will still be able to attend.
