The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was honored to participate in today’s balloon release hosted by Kelley’s Rainbow Domestic Violence Shelter at the Marshall County Courthouse in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This meaningful event serves as a reminder of the importance of raising awareness, supporting survivors, remembering victims, and standing together as a community against domestic violence.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting victims of domestic violence and working alongside community partners to help break the cycle of abuse.

What a great day to cook hamburgers and hotdogs for council on aging harvest festival held at the RSVP building in Guntersville. The sheriff, Commissioners Baker and Sims, EMA Director Blake Farmer along with Chairman John Young cooked for about 400 people this past Saturday. We had great time seeing people and supporting all of our seniors!

Early this morning, sheriff deputies, sheriff investigators, along with HSI agents and Marshall County DA investigators served a search warrant at an address on Doris St in Boaz related to a child po*******hy case. A Haitian male ran out the back door as they approached the residence into a thick wooded area with high grass. Deputies were able to quickly set up a perimeter and keep him contained inside the perimeter keeping him from being a further threat to the community. He has now been taken into custody and transported to the sheriff’s office. We would like to thank Boaz Police , Albertville Police Department, Guntersville Police Department, Marshall County Drug Unit, and the Marshall County Swat Team for their assistance.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

Please be aware of this SCAM!!!! Law enforcement will never tell you to put cash in a BITCOIN machine to avoid arrest or to cancel a warrant. If you receive such a call, call the agency they say they are with and report the call. We have received several reports of this type of scam going around in the county.

It’s that time of year for the FOP Lodge 18 Fish Fry on October 24th between 11:00 and 3:00. We will have great fellowship and the ball games will be on! The money raised will go toward our annual Shop With a Cop program this Christmas. So, come join as the Sheriff and staff cook delicious hot fish!

Come out and support a good cause on October 10th. All proceeds go to support domestic violence survivors through Community Action Agency. The sheriff will participate cooking his version of jambalaya!!

The sheriff and staff had a wonderful time today at the United Way Day of Caring Breakfast this morning in Boaz. We heard from Glenda Tallent-Smith and Mary Bailey from the Domestic Violence Crisis Services about what they do. Thank you for allowing us to be a participate today!
