💙 A Special Gift for Detective Hansen

For the past several years, Detective Kelly Hansen has made connecting with Gurnee’s senior community a special part of her work. She visits each of our senior living facilities throughout the year, building lasting friendships, sharing memorable moments and becoming a trusted resource for our seniors.

Recently, one of those friendships resulted in a very special gift. 🇺🇸

In recognition of the anniversary of September 11 and to show appreciation for law enforcement, one of our senior residents personally painted this artwork for Detective Hansen.

It’s a beautiful reminder that some of the most meaningful connections we make are built simply by showing up, spending time together and getting to know the people we serve.

Thank you for this incredibly thoughtful gift we know Detective Hansen will treasure it! 💙

🚔 When Your Office Has Four Wheels…

For many of our officers, the squad car is their office and knowing how to safely operate it is an important part of the job.

Today, our officers are taking part in behind-the-wheel training designed to sharpen their skills, reinforce safe driving techniques, and prepare them for situations they may encounter on the road.

Police driving can involve challenges most drivers don’t regularly face. From responding to emergencies and navigating traffic with lights and sirens to safely maneuvering a squad car in tight or rapidly changing situations. That’s why training matters.

The goal isn’t just getting there, it’s getting there safely. For our officers and for everyone sharing the road with us. 🚔

Train. Practice. Stay sharp. Stay safe.
