Have you ever wanted to learn more about gardening, growing flowers, or caring for plants? Our Garden SPIN Club is a great opportunity for youth to try something new, learn hands-on skills, and meet others with similar interests!

🌼 You don’t have to be a current 4-H member to join! This is a great way for new members to explore 4-H in a fun, relaxed environment.

It’s been a busy and rewarding few days away from the office! Rachel spent the week attending YouthFest and the IAE4-YDP Professional Development Day, connecting with Extension professionals from across the state and gathering new ideas and inspiration to bring back to Guthrie County.

On Monday and Tuesday, Rachel participated in a variety of workshops and mini-sessions focused on professional development, collaboration, and new opportunities to better serve our youth. On Wednesday, she had the opportunity to tour the Meat Science Laboratory and Jack Trice Stadium at Iowa State University!

These experiences highlight the importance of continued learning, sharing ideas, and finding innovative ways to support our youth and strengthen our communities. 💚

Don’t worry — Rachel will be back in the office tomorrow! She’s excited to put these new ideas into action and get back to serving Guthrie County youth and families!

This award recognizes individuals who have been in their positions for three years or less and have already made a meaningful difference in the Iowa 4-H program in that short time.

We are so proud of Rachel and the impact she has made on our 4-H youth, families, volunteers, and the Guthrie County community. Her dedication to creating opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and thrive truly represents the heart of 4-H!
