The Guthrie Fire Department is excited to announce the addition of a brand-new light-duty rescue vehicle, Rescue 1, to our emergency response fleet!

Funded by the Logan County Fire Tax, this new unit provides a much-needed upgrade to our department’s capabilities and will help us better serve our community.

R-1 will respond alongside an ambulance to EMS calls within Guthrie city limits and will also be equipped to assist with traffic accidents and motor vehicle collisions.

We’re proud to keep moving the Guthrie Fire Department forward by investing in our equipment, improving our response capabilities, and enhancing the safety of the communities we serve.

Thank you Banner Fire Equipment for the awesome build! Banner Fire Equipment - Oklahoma

Guthrie Fire Department is excited to announce the addition of an E-ONE Rescue Pumper to our fleet!

This apparatus is a significant upgrade from our aging Rescue 1 and will strengthen our emergency response capabilities throughout Guthrie and the surrounding communities we serve. Equipped with a 750-gallon water tank, the truck will allow our crews to begin suppressing vehicle fires at motor vehicle accidents while carrying the equipment needed for technical rescue operations.

This addition will also provide greater operational flexibility as we prepare for the opening of Station 2, with the ability to serve as a primary fire engine when needed. As our community continues to grow, we remain committed to making smart investments, maximizing our resources, and ensuring our firefighters have the equipment needed to respond safely and effectively.

We’re proud to continue moving Guthrie Fire Department forward and investing in the safety of the communities we serve!

Today, after many years of meetings, planning, and hard work, the Guthrie Fire Department officially broke ground on Fire Station 2!

The new station is slated to be completed in July 2027 and will be a tremendous addition to our department and the citizens we serve. Guthrie Fire Department currently covers more than 500 square miles throughout Logan County from one station. Having a second station located near I-35 will allow us to improve response times and provide better coverage throughout the county.

This is also one of many projects now underway through the CIP funding that the citizens of Guthrie voted to extend a couple of years ago. None of this would be possible without the continued support of our community.

There are far too many people to thank individually in one post, but please know how incredibly humbled and grateful we are for everyone who has played a part in making this day possible. So many people have worked behind the scenes for years to get us to this point.

We are extremely excited to watch this project take shape and will do our best to share updates throughout the entire construction process.

Guthrie Fire was dispatched to the 1300 block of N. Ash shortly after 6:15 this morning for a smoke investigation.

When crews arrived, they were met with heavy fire conditions, with fire already venting through the roof. Crews initially made an offensive attack but were later forced to evacuate the structure due to a roof collapse. There were no injuries to personnel on scene.

Guthrie Fire received automatic aid assistance from our partners at Oak Cliff and Crescent Fire. We also thank Guthrie PD, Logan County Emergency Management, and Dispatch for their assistance throughout the scene!

Great work by everyone involved!
