Good morning, WCESP! 👻
Before you head into the weekend, think back over your workweek.

Was there something that made you think:
“There has to be a better way to do this.”
“We need more people.”
“This workload isn’t sustainable.”
“I wish our contract addressed this.”
“This is something we definitely need to protect.”

Those thoughts matter.

They are exactly the kinds of real workplace experiences that should help shape our bargaining priorities.

Our Bargaining Survey is coming soon.
When it arrives, don’t assume someone else will mention the issue that matters to you.

Tell us.

The strongest bargaining agenda is one built from the voices of our members.
Have a great Friday, WCESP!

Good morning, WCESP! 🍁
As we prepare for bargaining, we want members thinking about more than simply:
“What raise do I want?”

Pay absolutely matters!

But your contract also affects:
Workload.
Staffing.
Hours.
Breaks.
Leave.
Transfers.
Job duties.
Benefits.
Safety.
Professional growth.
Workplace protections.
And much more.

Soon, members will receive the WCESP Bargaining Survey.

Before it arrives, think about your actual workday.

What makes your job harder than it needs to be?

What should we protect?

What needs to change?

Your bargaining team cannot know every experience across every classification and worksite.
That’s why we need to hear from you. 🗣️🦻🏻

📘 KNOW YOUR CONTRACT WEDNESDAY

Since today is Bus Driver Day, let’s highlight something in our agreement specifically affecting transportation employees.

Our negotiated agreement includes a Memorandum of Understanding for Bus Drivers, in addition to the general contract provisions that apply to bargaining-unit members.

That matters because different ESP classifications can have specific language addressing the realities of their work.

Your contract isn’t just about wages.

It covers working conditions, rights, responsibilities, schedules, leave, transfers, discipline, benefits, and much more.

And as we prepare for bargaining, this is a great time to ask:
Does the current contract reflect what your job actually looks like today?
That is something we need to hear from you in the upcoming bargaining survey.

Know your contract. Know your work. Use your voice. 💙

Good morning, WCESP! 🌻
🚌 HAPPY BUS DRIVER DAY!
Today we recognize the WCESP members who begin and end the school day for thousands of students across Washington County.

Our bus drivers do much more than drive.
They greet students in the morning.
They learn names, routines, stops, and families.
They manage safety while navigating traffic, weather, schedules, and everything that can happen between home and school.
For some students, their bus driver is the first WCPS employee they see in the morning and the last one they see in the afternoon.

Today, take a moment to thank a bus driver for the important work they do.
WCESP sees you, appreciates you, and is proud to represent you. ❤️🚌

Good morning, WCESP! ☀️
We hope everyone enjoyed the three-day weekend and had some time to rest and recharge.

While many of our members were enjoying Association Day, five WCESP delegates were in Ocean City representing our local at the MSEA Representative Assembly.

The RA was a success, and we learned a lot about the process of representing members at the state level.

We listened.

We asked questions.

We voted with all of our members in mind.

And one of the best parts of the weekend was experiencing solidarity alongside our union brothers and sisters from WCTA and locals from across Maryland.

It was a powerful reminder that while we each represent different groups and communities, we are part of something much larger.
We came home better informed, more connected, and ready to keep doing the work here in Washington County.

Good morning, WCESP! ☕️

Today is Association Day!

We hope our members enjoy the day and have an opportunity to rest and recharge.

Meanwhile, five WCESP delegates are in Ocean City representing our local at the 2026 MSEA Convention and Representative Assembly.

The Representative Assembly is where delegates from local associations across Maryland come together to conduct MSEA business, consider resolutions and new business, discuss legislative priorities, and help guide the work of our state association. Maryland State Education Association

This is one of the ways our local voice connects to something much larger.

WCESP → MSEA → NEA

Our members are part of a network of education employees advocating together at the local, state, and national levels.

We are proud to represent Washington County Educational Support Professionals this weekend. ✊🏼

Enjoy Association Day, WCESP!
