The Office of Emergency Management is monitoring a nor’easter that may bring strong winds, heavy rain, and localized flooding through Monday. Please secure loose outdoor items, charge your devices, and never drive through flooded roadways.

Prepare for Strong Winds and Heavy Rain

The Haledon Office of Emergency Management is monitoring a nor’easter expected to affect the area through Monday, September 28, 2026.

According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts of 45–55 mph are possible through early Sunday, with 1.5–3.5 inches of rain forecast regionally through Monday. Downed tree limbs, power outages, and flooding in areas with poor drainage are possible.

Residents should secure outdoor furniture, trash cans, and other loose items; charge phones and essential devices; and use caution when traveling. Never drive through floodwater and stay away from downed wires.

To report a power outage, please contact PSE&G at 1-800-436-7734 or text OUT to 47734. PSE&G also encourages customers to register for PSE&G Text Reporting by texting REG to 47734.

Mayor Michael Johnson and The Haledon Municipal Council are pleased to announce that Council Meetings will be streamed LIVE beginning September 24, 2026!

Residents will now have the opportunity to watch Council Meetings from the comfort of their homes. Meeting recordings will also be available on the official Borough of Haledon YouTube Channel.

Please note:
The livestream is for viewing purposes only. Residents who wish to express concerns, ask questions, or address the Mayor and Council are welcome and encouraged to attend Council Meetings in person and participate during the designated public comment portion of the meeting.
