Hamburg Police Department – Incident Update
June 25, 2026

On June 25, 2026, the Hamburg Police Department took a report of a vehicle break‑in on Pine Ridge Drive. A fi***rm and cash were reported stolen from the vehicle.

During the investigation, officers obtained video footage showing several individuals in the area around the time of the break‑in. A citizen later provided a tip after seeing the same individuals near the corner of East Parker Street and Bartlet Street. Additional video was collected from that location, which helped officers identify the suspects.

Through the course of the investigation, officers identified Kameron Ray (18 YOA) of Hamburg as the individual who entered the vehicle and took the fi***rm. When officers approached Ray near East Railroad, he fled into a wooded area. After a short foot pursuit, Ray was taken into custody. The stolen fi***rm was recovered nearby, lying in the weeds close to where Ray was apprehended.

Ray was transported to the Ashley County Jail and is being held on the following charges:

Breaking or Entering

Theft of Property

Theft of a Fi***rm

Criminal Trespass

Fleeing on Foot

Tampering with Evidence

He is currently awaiting his first appearance.

Based on the investigation, it was determined that Ray was the only individual who entered the vehicle and took the fi***rm. The other three individuals seen in the area have not been charged at this time.

I would like to thank my officers for their hard work and professionalism throughout this investigation. I also want to thank the citizens who came forward with information. Your assistance was critical in identifying the suspect and recovering the fi***rm

The Hamburg Police Department would like to thank the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce for their outstanding work and dedication in organizing this year’s Armadillo Festival. The Chamber’s staff and volunteers devote countless hours to planning and preparation, and their efforts consistently result in a successful and well‑run event.

We appreciate their professionalism, cooperation, and commitment to our community. They are excellent partners, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with them each year.

Another Armadillo Festival is in the books. On Friday night, I received information about an alleged threat toward the festival for Saturday night. When the threat resurfaced on Saturday, I took the necessary steps to increase security and reached out for additional assistance.
Sheriff Sturgeon immediately offered support and sent five or six deputies. Chief Bradberry from Crossett PD sent three officers, and the Arkansas State Police sent a Trooper. On behalf of myself and the Hamburg Police Department, I want to personally thank these officers and deputies for helping maintain safety for everyone.
I also want to thank the Chamber Board, their staff, and the volunteers for their professionalism in the wake of this situation. They were understanding, steady, and great to work with.
And to my full time, part time, and auxiliary officers—thank you for your dedication year after year. Your commitment, and the support of your families who share you with this community, does not go unnoticed.
Also, I want to thank the Hamburg Fire Department and Pro Med Ambulance service for their help.

At the end of the day, it is not about us or about politics. It is about the safety of every person who attends the festival.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
God Bless You.
God Bless Hamburg.
God Bless Ashley County.
God Bless Arkansas. And
God Bless the United States of America.

Hamburg Police Department – Community Update

Yesterday morning, three Noble Elementary students ingested a chemical product used to change the color of flames in fire pits and campfires. The substance was brought onto the school bus by a student and was ingested while students were on their way to school. This was not a drug, and there is no indication of any illegal substances being involved.

Once at the school, staff responded immediately. The school nurse provided care, Poison Control was contacted, and all three students were taken to the hospital out of caution.

There is no evidence of intentional wrongdoing, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Hamburg Police Department and the Hamburg School District want to reassure parents and the community that the safety and well‑being of our children is our highest priority. All appropriate precautions were taken quickly, and both agencies will continue working closely to ensure a safe environment for every student.

⚠️ TORNADO SIREN TEST TODAY AT NOON
The Police Department will be conducting a test of our new tornado warning sirens around noon today. This is only a routine systems check to ensure everything is working properly before storm season.
There is no emergency—just a scheduled test so we can keep our community safe and informed.

Thank you for your cooperation.
