Today, on World Mental Health Day, we recognize that mental health is essential to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. By encouraging open conversations, reducing stigma, and connecting people with support, we can help create healthier, more resilient communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Let’s continue to prioritize mental health, not just today, but every day.

: Prevention isn't just about reducing risk, it's about building strength.

Protective factors are the conditions that help people thrive and lower the likelihood of substance use and mental health challenges. The good news? We can all help build them.

When we strengthen these, we build resilience that lasts a lifetime.

It's Mental Illness Awareness Week, a time to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and remind one another that mental health is health.

Millions of people live with mental health conditions, and recovery is real and possible. The more openly we talk about mental health, the easier it becomes for people to reach out and get the support they deserve.

This week, you can:
✔️ Check in on someone you care about
✔️ Challenge stigma when you hear it
✔️ Share mental health resources
✔️ Remind others that help is available

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline—free, confidential, and available 24/7.

: As Recovery Month continues, remember, recovery restores every aspect of life.

If daily life feels harder than usual, you don't have to figure it out alone. Support is available, and taking the first step is a sign of strength, not weakness.

SAMHSA's FindSupport.gov is a great place to start. It helps you understand what you're going through and find the right resources and care.

: Never underestimate the power of connection.

Reaching out to friends and family, even with a simple message or call, can make a world of difference.

Connection is one of the strongest protective factors against su***de and one of the most powerful things any of us can offer.

This week:
• Check in on someone you haven't heard from
• Truly listen when someone shares
• Let people know they matter to you
• Make space for the hard conversations

Together, we can build a support system that strengthens us all.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Free, confidential, and available 24/7.

Spot the warning signs: youth su***de prevention.

Young people may not always say when they're struggling, but there are signs we can watch for:
⚠️ Expressing hopelessness about the future
⚠️ Overwhelming emotional pain or distress
⚠️ Increased physical complaints like fatigue, headaches, or stomachaches
⚠️ Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities
⚠️ Noticeable changes in sleep patterns
⚠️ Anger or irritability that seems out of character

If you notice these signs, take them seriously. Reach out, listen without judgment, and connect them to help.

: Recovery = Whole Body Wellness.

Healing from mental health, drug, or alcohol challenges isn't just about treatment. It's about caring for your mind, body, and connections every day.

💪 Care for your body: rest, routine, time outdoors, and movement
🧠 Care for your mind: journal, breathe deeply, take breaks from screens, explore hobbies
🤝 Connect with others: join a support group, talk to loved ones, volunteer

Recovery isn't a straight line. It's a journey of small steps. Each choice to care for yourself is a step toward healing.
