The East End neighborhood in Hamilton looks a bit brighter thanks to a group of students at Crawford Woods Elementary School and a 17Strong nanogrant.

The utility box at the corner of S Fair Ave and Hancock Ave got a face lift from an artist and six students who worked together to bring new life to the box. It features several of the school’s slogans, as well as color and imagery to brighten the neighborhood.

Several groups of students gave presentations, working on their public speaking skills, to determine what the nanogrant would be used for. This is just one of the ways that 17Strong is doing their part to improve the 17 distinct neighborhoods of Hamilton.

Exploring exciting possibilities for the future! Today, Hamilton High School hosted College Application Day, welcoming reps from multiple area colleges right here to campus.

Our Big Blue scholars in the Class of 2027 had an incredible opportunity to take big steps toward their goals:
• Meeting face-to-face with representatives from local colleges and universities
• Exploring academic programs, campus life, and career pathways
• Completing and submitting official college applications on the spot

We love seeing our students take charge of their futures and chase their dreams with confidence!

Today we are proud to shine the light on Natalie Roberts, a 12th-grade student at the Miami School! Natalie is recognized for her hard work, significant progress, and exemplary attitude.

Here are a few quick facts about Natalie:
• Favorite subject is English, and her dream is to become a writer one day
• Credits Mrs. Sarant for pushing her to reach her goals and making a big impact on her
• Advice to classmates: work hard and do your work—it makes a huge difference in the long run
• Outside of school, she loves spending time and playing with her puppy Moose

We are so thankful to have Natalie as part of our school family and cannot wait to see all she achieves!

NEW THERAPY DOGS

Exciting news for our district! Four new therapy dogs graduated today and are officially heading home to Hamilton.

Staff members at Ridgeway, Hamilton High School, Linden, and Bridgeport spent the week training hard alongside their new pup partners. Our current therapy dogs Arrow, Tango, and Reina are so excited to welcome their new furry friends to the district team:
• Bringing daily comfort, warmth, and smiles to our hallways
• Helping students build confidence and emotional well-being
• Supporting learning and positivity across our school family

Please help us welcome these wonderful new therapy dogs to our Hamilton City Schools community!

NUEVOS PERROS DE TERAPIA

¡Excelentes noticias para nuestro distrito! Hoy se graduaron cuatro nuevos perros de terapia que ya se dirigen a sus hogares en Hamilton.

El personal de las escuelas Ridgeway, Hamilton High School, Linden y Bridgeport pasó la semana entrenando arduamente junto a sus nuevos compañeros caninos. Nuestros actuales perros de terapia —Arrow, Tango y Reina— están muy emocionados de dar la bienvenida a sus nuevos amigos peludos al equipo del distrito:

Big Blue art in the spotlight! Hamilton High School art teacher Paul Loehle was chosen to create a stunning chalk mural for Cincinnati's BLINK festival.

Mr. Loehle is well-known across the tri-state area as an accomplished muralist and artist. We are so lucky to have his incredible talent guiding our high school scholars every day:
• Sharing real-world creative experience with our Big Blue students
• Teaching Drawing and Design, Painting and Color Theory, and Public Art classes
• Inspiring the next generation of Hamilton artists to express their creativity

Exciting news from Hamilton High School! Today, 40 Big Blue students gathered in the Nuxhall House to join the Community First pre-apprenticeship program.

Through our Hamilton BLUEprint partnership with Community First Solutions, these students are taking big steps toward bright futures:
• Exploring career pathways in Health, Humanities, and Human Services
• Learning about local community impact and employment opportunities
• Preparing for hands-on, on-site visits starting this December

This program gives our students real-world experience, connects them with local employers, and builds a clear path from high school to meaningful careers.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Wilson Therapy Dog Tango! Our Wilson Knights celebrated Tango on October 8th with a special donation drive for the Animal Friends Humane Society in Hamilton.

As a former shelter dog himself, Tango was thrilled to help give back to local shelter pets. Thanks to the generosity of our Wilson students, families, and staff, donations were overflowing from the wagon:
• Collecting food, toys, and supplies for local shelter animals
• Showing compassion and service to our local community
• Celebrating Tango and living out the Wilson Way every single day

Tango and his owner, Kaitlyn Lang, send a huge thank you to everyone who shared love and support for the Goodest Boy on his birthday!

¡Feliz cumpleaños a Tango, el perro de terapia de Wilson! Los alumnos de Wilson celebraron a Tango el 8 de octubre con una campaña especial de donaciones para la organización *Animal Friends Humane Society* de Hamilton.
