🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, Hammond Fire & Rescue pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families, friends, and communities forever changed by that day.

We especially remember the 343 firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority officers, 8 Private Service EMTs and Paramedics as well as 2 FDNY Paramedics who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to save others.

They answered the call without hesitation.
They showed courage in the face of unimaginable danger.
They left behind families, friends, brothers, and sisters.

Their sacrifice reminds all of us in the fire and emergency services why we answer the call.

We remember their names.
We honor their sacrifice.
We carry their legacy forward.

From all of us at Hammond Fire & Rescue:

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET.
đźš’ NEVER FORGOTTEN.
🕯️ ALWAYS REMEMBERED.
