Just after 3:00 a.m. this morning, fire department personnel were dispatched to a reported woods fire near the intersection of Wymouth Road and Egg Harbor Road.

Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Jim Day reported a fully involved structure fire and requested an all-hands response with mutual aid companies. Large-diameter hose lines and two aerial ladders were placed in service to assist with firefighting operations.

We thank our mutual aid partners who assisted on scene and those who provided station coverage while our crews operated at the incident.

Whenever possible, charge e-bikes, scooters, and power tool batteries outdoors in a safe, designated area. Never block exits while charging. These larger batteries store more energy and can cause fires to spread quickly if they fail.
