When seconds count, getting to the scene safely and efficiently is priority number one. Today, our officers completed our Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) training to sharp-tune our emergency driving skills.
Driving under lights and sirens isn't just about speed—it’s about precision, split-second decision-making, spatial awareness, and maintaining control under high-stress conditions. Regular EVOC training ensures our officers can navigate heavy traffic, adverse weather, and unpredictable road conditions while keeping both our team and the community safe.
🚓 Cross-Training with EMS 🚑
You might be surprised to learn that EVOC training isn't just limited to police cruisers! Today, our officers also spent time behind the wheel of one of our ambulances. On critical medical calls, officers sometimes step in to drive the ambulance so paramedics can dedicate 100% of their attention to providing life-saving care to a patient in the back. Training on larger vehicles ensures we are ready to assist our fire and EMS partners seamless at a moment's notice.
Thank you to our fire department and community partners at the Fernald Field Dragway for making today's practical training a success!
