The Hampstead Fire Department announces the retirement of Fire Chief George Kramlinger, wrapping up a highly distinguished career dedicated to public safety, emergency management, and military service.
Chief Kramlinger joined the Hampstead Fire Department following a remarkable 17-year tenure commanding municipal fire operations across New England, including prior service as Fire Chief for Somersworth, NH, and Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. He is highly regarded across the region for his deep commitment to education, having served as the Director of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and as a lead instructor at the New Hampshire Fire Academy.
Beyond municipal service, Chief Kramlinger dedicated decades of leadership to federal and national security missions. He served as a member of FEMA’s Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 1 and completed a long, decorated military career as a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and fighter pilot.
During his time leading Hampstead Fire-Rescue, Chief Kramlinger was instrumental in strengthening local emergency infrastructure, championing public safety initiatives, and overseeing vital operational enhancements.
We are profoundly grateful for Chief Kramlinger's expert leadership, his lifetime of service to our country, and his dedication to the residents of Hampstead. His emphasis on top-tier training and regional partnership leaves our organization in an excellent position moving forward.
The entire Hampstead community extends its deepest gratitude to Chief Kramlinger for his steadfast protection and wishes him the absolute best as he begins his well-deserved retirement.
