It’s been one week since NASA Langley welcomed industry, academic, government, and community partners for Industry Day — and what an incredible day it was! 🙌

Industry Day marked an exciting step toward shaping a future Aerospace Innovation District, a multi‑decade vision activating more than 325 acres of NASA Langley real estate for mission‑aligned development.

From learning sessions on innovation districts and federal partnership authorities to tours of Langley’s real estate parcels and facilities, the day sparked fresh ideas and new connections that will help advance national aerospace priorities. ✈ 🚀

Did you know that NASA Langley's Flight Vehicle Acoustics Branch has a team focused on the physics of noise and its effects on people?

Max Reid is an engineering technician who runs tests using a microphone calibration system – a set of tools that allows him to gauge how sensitive and accurate a microphone is and to verify whether it performs correctly. These microphones are part of NASA's on-the-ground recording units which will be used in the next phase of the Quesst mission. The units will measure the X-59’s quieter sound when the plane flies supersonic.

The Quesst mission aims to change how we all fly in the future – cutting flight times in half. ✈

Today we celebrate Dr. Christine Darden on her 84th birthday!🎉

Dr. Darden is a NASA Langley trailblazer - mathematician, aerospace engineer, and "human computer." She is a supersonic legend whose work on sonic boom prediction and sonic boom minimization has helped advance the work on NASA's Quesst mission. The Quesst mission will change how we all fly in the future by turning a loud sonic boom into a softer sound - aiming to reduce flight times in half.

Wishing Dr. Darden a SUPER happy birthday and grateful for all of her numerous contributions and endless achievements! As she rings in birthday number 84, she continues to inspire current and future generations with her work. ✨
