Today, we proudly recognize Chief Adam Slusher on his one-year anniversary as Chief of the Hanging Rock Police Department.

Over the past year, Chief Slusher has demonstrated strong leadership, dedication, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to the community he serves. His approach to law enforcement has emphasized not only public safety, but also building relationships, supporting his officers, and remaining actively involved in the community.

Throughout his first year as Chief, he has worked to:

Strengthen the relationship between the police department and the community.

Support and recognize the hard work and dedication of the department’s officers.

Encourage professionalism, accountability, and teamwork within the department.

Participate in community events and programs that bring law enforcement and residents together.

Give back to local families and children through community initiatives such as Shop With a Cop.

Notice to Residents

If paving operations are required in a specific area of the Village, residents are strongly encouraged to remain at home and avoid unnecessary vehicle travel until the paving work has been completed.

During paving operations, North Second Street will be restricted to local residents only, and this restriction will be strictly enforced. Residents and visitors are advised to allow sufficient time to identify and utilize alternate routes to avoid delays and traffic congestion in the affected area.

Please be advised that the Village will not be responsible for the removal of asphalt, tar, paint, or any related materials from vehicles resulting from travel through or around active paving areas. Residents are encouraged to use caution and follow all posted signs, barricades, and instructions during paving operations.

The Village appreciates the cooperation, patience, and understanding of all residents as we work to improve our streets and infrastructure for the benefit of the community.

Respectfully,

Chris Davidson
Mayor, Village of Hanging Rock

There may be temporary road closures, lane restrictions, delays, and increased construction traffic throughout the project. Please use caution if traveling near the work zone and follow all posted signs and directions from workers.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue making improvements to our village’s infrastructure. Thank you for helping us keep both the workers and the public safe.

Today, the Hanging Rock Police Department had the pleasure of welcoming Lindi Flaig, who stopped by to interview Sgt. Cooper as part of her ongoing advocacy efforts to promote autism communication awareness.

Lindi will be competing for Miss Ohio’s Teen in Ashland, Ohio, on June 19, and her Community Service Initiative, “Listen Beyond Words,” focuses on increasing understanding and awareness for individuals with autism. Through her work, she is encouraging communities to recognize that communication comes in many forms and that every individual deserves to be understood and respected.

As part of her initiative, Lindi has launched a movement called “Communication Is Key.” She is creating and distributing communication card key rings for first responders to use when interacting with individuals who may be nonverbal or have difficulty communicating. These tools can help officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other first responders better understand the needs of those they serve, leading to safer and more effective interactions.

We commend Lindi for her dedication, compassion, and leadership at such a young age. Her efforts are making a meaningful difference by educating the public and helping first responders become better equipped to serve individuals with autism and other communication challenges.

The Hanging Rock Police Department appreciates the opportunity to support Lindi’s mission and wishes her the very best as she competes for the title of Miss Ohio’s Teen.

Dear Residents and Community Members,

We would like to take a moment to address the condition of North Second Street and provide an update on the upcoming improvement project.

The Village of Hanging Rock has approved a $90,000 street improvement project for North Second Street. Work is scheduled to begin during the last week of June. This project is an important investment in improving roadway conditions, safety, and overall accessibility for everyone who travels through the area.

We understand the current condition of the street has been a concern for many residents, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding the community has shown while plans and funding were being finalized.

During construction, there may be temporary inconveniences, including delays and limited access at certain times. We ask for your continued cooperation as crews work to complete these much-needed improvements as safely and efficiently as possible.

Thank you again for your patience, support, and commitment to our community. We look forward to delivering a better and safer roadway for all residents and visitors.

Sincerely,

Chief Slusher
