Important Tax Exemption Information for Seniors and Disabled Veterans
September 28, 2026

Hanover Real Estate Tax Exemption applications were mailed to previous applicants in July. If you received an application, please return it to the Hanover Assessor’s Office at your earliest convenience, if you have not already done so. Applications received by November 1, 2026, will allow an approved exemption to be reflected directly on your tax bill mailed in December.

Applications received after November 1 will still be processed and approved, and eligible taxpayers will still receive the tax reduction. However, the exemption will not appear on the December tax bill and will instead be applied as a separate adjustment.

Senior taxpayers who have experienced a reduction in income are encouraged to contact or visit the Hanover Assessor’s Office to learn more about tax relief options that may be available.

Important Deadline: All exemption applications must be received by the Assessor’s Office no later than April 1, 2027, to be considered for FY27 tax relief.

If you have questions or are unsure whether you may qualify for an exemption, please contact the Assessor’s Office by calling 781-826-5000, ext. 1003, or by emailing [email protected].
