**ONLY 7 MORE DAYS LEFT TO ORDER YOURS!!!**

That’s right! Only 9 more days left to order your apparel ahead of Veterans Day!

A portion of the proceeds goes directly to helping Veterans in Hanover and Hanson in need. We provide one time payments to bills like medical, utility, and rent/mortgage. We also provide groceries and emergency shelter.

This time of year is extremely difficult due to cold temperatures and the holidays. Having to choose between keeping a roof over head, keeping the lights on, heat, food, and possible gifts for kids on the holidays, is one of the biggest battles nowadays. This is where your local VSO is able to make a direct impact in the communities we serve.

In return, you get a quality t-shirt or hoodie to Sport Your Support! Orders will be processed and shipped so you can wear yours of Veterans Day 2026 and everyday! Showing your appreciation for those that stand up for the freedoms you enjoy everyday.

Thank you in advance!!

Don’t forget. This Thursday is the Free Food Drive Thru!

This is not a Veteran specific event. Anyone that is in need, can line up to get their cars stuffed with food and whatever other supplies Wolfie has to offer. Including for your neighbor if they can’t drive there themselves.

Get down there early. There’s only so much and it goes really fast.

🇺🇸 Remembering Mogadishu — October 3–4, 1993

During Operation Gothic Serpent in Somalia, U.S. forces undertook a mission to capture key associates of warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. After two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down, the mission became a desperate overnight effort to reach and rescue their fellow service members. Eighteen Americans gave their lives, and many more were wounded.

The Battle of Mogadishu was more than a headline or a scene in a film. For those who served there, it was a profound test of courage, loyalty, and sacrifice—and a loss carried long after the battle ended. The survivors returned home bearing memories, injuries, and grief that many would carry for the rest of their lives. Their families, too, lived with the lasting effects of that night, supporting loved ones while carrying burdens that were often unseen.

VFW Post 9582 honors the fallen, the survivors, and the families who stood beside them and endured the lasting cost of their service. We remember the courage shown in the face of danger, the bonds that held service members together, and the lives forever changed by what happened in Mogadishu.

Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

MILITARY FUNERAL HONORS ARE ALWAYS FREE!
Just when you think scammers couldn't stoop any lower, they do.
***ALERT FROM BOURNE NATIONAL CEMETERY****
An active, predatory scam is targeting grieving veteran families across the Southeast. Individuals are posing as members of the Armed Forces, an honor guard, or government employees. These callers are contacting families of deceased veterans—particularly families arranging military funeral honors—and falsely claiming that payment is required for a refundable “insurance policy.” They allege this policy is necessary to cover any liability the honor guard might incur while participating in the service. The callers are reportedly demanding credit-card payment and threatening that the military honors detail will be canceled if payment is not made.
As you all know, military funeral honors are an earned benefit provided at zero cost; no payment is ever required. We are putting together a communications plan to get the word out on Military OneSource, social media, newsletters, etc. As these digital assets and resources go live, we will provide you with direct links that you can easily share through your own communication networks, newsletters, and social media pages.
In the meantime, please take these actions to protect families:
• Inform your staff of this scam.
• Proactively advise veteran and active duty surviving families during the arrangement process that they should never receive phone calls demanding payment for military honors.
• If a family encounters this scam, instruct them to hang up, notify you with any concerns, and file a fraud report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

Missed him while he was in Hanover this morning. But, during my lunch hour from training, Sarge and I just had to run out and meet Kyndal Ray Edwards on his journey of healing and awareness to Mental Health. Because, that’s what Sarge and I are all about. Healing, empowering, and overcoming in order to move on happily.

This idea isn’t just a Veteran issue. Mental Health is something we all struggle with. It’s something we all need to work on. Feeling better and being better.

I see you Kyndal. The world sees you. You do matter. And you are enough. That’s why we came out to meet you. Thanks for making our town one of your mile markers.

And thank you for the bracelet. Hope you enjoy the patches! Sarge is a celebrity around here. So, when he says we need to go meet you, I have to bring this rockstar wherever he wants. He was happy to have met you as well!
