# Hanover Middle School Teacher and Author Featured on WITF's *The Spark*

Hanover Middle School teacher and author Drew Samuelsen is being featured on WITF's *The Spark* to discuss his accomplishments as a writer and his work across multiple storytelling formats.

Samuelsen's creative work includes novels, audio productions, and screenwriting. During his appearance on *The Spark*, he will discuss his writing journey, the creative process, and how stories can be adapted for different audiences and formats.

Among his creative accomplishments is *Fiend*, a story that began as a short story before being developed into a 30-minute audio drama and podcast. Samuelsen subsequently expanded the work into a feature-length screenplay, demonstrating the process of developing a story across different forms of media.

Samuelsen is also the author of *Restart*, a young adult dystopian book series set in familiar Central Pennsylvania communities, including Harrisburg, Carlisle, and Camp Hill. The series explores themes of friendship, perseverance, technology, and the challenges of navigating an increasingly digital world.

The first book in the *Restart* series was incorporated into lessons at Hanover Middle School, providing students with opportunities to think critically about technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and their impact on society.

In addition to his writing, Samuelsen balances his work as an educator and coach with his creative projects. His appearance on *The Spark* highlights his experiences as an author and the connections between storytelling, technology, and education.
