There has been some slight changes to the Yreka Light of Hope vigil!

The Karuk MMIP program will now be collaborating with the Siskiyou Domestic Violence and Crisis Center.

The vigil date will now be October 23, 2026. The new location for the vigil will be at the Siskiyou Domestic Violence and Crisis Center at 118 Ranch Ln, Yreka, CA.

The vigil will be from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM!

We are sorry for the late notice, and hope you can still join us for this special event!

This Saturday!

Join us for a Pine Nut Beading Class on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM in Yreka!

Children ages 5–18 are invited to learn pine nut beading with practitioner Alexis Bailey. All supplies will be provided.

Seating is limited, so reserve your child’s spot by calling Human Services at (530) 841-3141.

Please note: Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or family member.

A small Karuk Women's burning module is going to be burning in the area of Simms, up the Go Road in Orleans today.

Ignitions expected to begin around 2:00 PM, pending weather conditions.

Smoke will lift and move northeast (upriver). Smoke will be visible throughout town. All smoke will be extinguished before leaving the burned area.

Join us for the Elders' Program White Elephant-Style Bingo in Orleans, CA!

Bingo will be at the Orleans Senior Center and will begin at 12:30 after the Senior Nutrition Lunch.

How to participate:
Bring a gift or prize to play; each prize you bring will give you a Bingo card!
You can bring up to 6 gifts/prizes, which can earn you up to 6 Bingo cards.
Regular Bingo will go until all gifts/prizes run out.
Blackout Bingo will then begin, and the winner will receive the grand prize provided by the Elders Program.
