Narrative:

On 09-30-2026 at 5:26 P.M. the Hardwick Police Department responded to the report of an erratic operator near Terrace Hill Road and the O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store in Hardwick Village. The operator was observed by Hardwick Police as he headed east on South Main Street. Police followed the vehicle onto Vermont Rte. 15 and conducted a traffic stop on Rte. 15 near the Quicklane shop. The operator, identified as Carmelo Deida Jr., was operating with a criminally suspended license. Deida Jr. has been cited into the Caledonia unit of the Superior Court of Vermont, Criminal Division, to be arraigned on the charge.

Narrative: On 9/28/26 at approximately 0918 hours Hardwick Police was dispatched to a 2-car accident at the intersection of Route 15 and Rt 14N. Upon arriving on scene there were 2 vehicles that were moved to the side of the road. Alexander Whitley was eastbound on RT 15 in his 2019 Audi A6 Quattro and was attempting to turn into the Hardwick Convenience and Deli. Whitley had to pull to the side of the road to give an ambulance the right of way. After the
ambulance passed, he continued to make his left hand turn and was hit by Martin Quinlan in his 2006 Toyota Tacoma. There were no injuries. Both vehicles received moderate damage.

On 09/21/2026 at 4:16 P.M. the Hardwick Police Department was notified of a single vehicle in a ditch in the area of 389 Mackville Road in Hardwick. The operator was identified as Harmoney Peets. The vehicle was able to be extricated from the ditch with the assistance of her family. No injuries were reported.

On 09-22-26 the Hardwick Police Department arrested 43-year-old Kristin Wallace of Greensboro on an outstanding warrant. She was arrested at a vacant residence at 122 Spring Street in Hardwick. The Warrant was for failing to appear in court for a hearing. The underlying charges are Vehicle Operation without the Owner’s Consent and Violation of Probation. She was transported to the Caledonia unit of the Superior Court of Vermont, Criminal Division where she was ordered lodged with $500.00 bail. She was subsequently transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury for this lodging.

On 09/15/2026 at 5:45 P.M. the Hardwick Police Department was notified of a two vehicle crash on Vermont Route 14S near the Dollar General in Hardwick. The operators were identified as
Felicia Lodato and Dominic Spillane. Dominic Spillane’s vehicle collided with the rear end of Felicia Lodato’s vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash and both vehicles were able to be driven away from the scene.

Narrative: On 08/16/26 at approximately 1920 hours, Hardwick PD conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation. The operator, Jamel Bannister of Johnson, was found to be criminally suspended. Bannister was taken into custody without incident and transported to Hardwick Police Department for processing. Bannister was released on a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on 09/03/26 at 830HRS to answer to the charge.
