The Harlan County Extension office recently hired and is pleased to welcome a new agent for Family and Consumer Science. Kristi Couch was an educator in Leslie County for 32 years. She taught FCS classes during the first half of her career, while finishing the second part of her career as the Library Media Specialist for Leslie County High School. Kristi has many interests, among those being an avid University of Kentucky fan. She enjoys spending time with her son and her family, traveling, and starting many craft projects.

Join us on Thursday, October 8 at the Harlan County Extension Depot. The program will begin at 5:30pm.

It doesn’t take many trees to make syrup. With just a few maple trees, you can make up to a gallon of maple syrup. Stop by and learn more about the process.
